Question Re: Advice on Part-P authorities

I'm thinking of going with ELECSA as I have heard that they are very good and really competetive with all other Part P'ers.

Also as they re a part of the ECA I hear that this is a real selling point.

Anybody else have anything to add as I would really like to have an informed decision/choice.

All that part-p means is that some suit has come and talked bollocks to you on some site and charged you a few hundred £'s for the privilage, some of the lads that have been sacked from our place for doing some unbeliveably dangerous work (ie did'nt bother testing a shower, finds out it has no earth and no rcd on retest, wtf!) and sails into his part-p and the new testing course whatever it is.

there seems to be a lot of bad feeling coming from the so called approved contractors who incidently got approved by the same suit talking the same bollox as he was talking to a domestic installer half hour before oh and they happen to have been in buisness a bit longer.some of the worst work i have come across as been carried out by approved contractors, while i dont agree with someone calling them self a spark after doing a short course most domestic installers i come across have city & guilds and have been in the game for ages ,and if they didnt have enough knowledge they would not pass the assesment process.you approved contractors are going to have to face the fact that the days of you holding customers to ransom and charging stupid money are gone for good. and yes i am a niceic domestic installer .
