Default NIC EIC Views regarding calibration

With our annual assesment coming up I just wondered if anyone else has heard of this

Couple of NICEIC sparkies have said that the assesment inspector has told them that provided they have a calibration check box in regular use. And historicaly the readings obtained are always the same. Then there is no need to waist money on sending your instruments off for formal calibrations.

If on the other hand readings are fluctuating then fair enough a proffesional calibration is required.

Have any of you guys come across this?
It makes sense to me ,but just wanted to check it out.

Yes its true had an assessment about 4 weeks ago and was told then that your tester only needs calibration every three years providing readings remain the same as you stated.

    Thanks Chris,

It does make sense, I just can't believe a money spinner has been dropped for the sake of common sense
