Angry Re: Cef=bunch of robdogs.

I too have ditched CEF as every time I asked for a certain product they seemed to not have it in stock. They would then try and sell me an alternative at a higher price!!!

I have started to use Rexel Senate and so far they are great and the prices are very reasonable. The Secor sockets and accessories are of a good quality too.

They have provided me with Wylex dual RCD split boards and MCB's for less than £100.

my lads mate was up the house earlier, pi**ed up and pi**ed off - he works for CEF, they wont pay him for his lunch hour, which he is not allowed to leave the premises for, so ends up working through, and wont pay him for Saturday mornings, which he has to work every other week. He's worked out he's not even on minimum wage

'kin robbers they are

CEF are rip off merchants....

I use Denmans, national company...17th Edition dual Split load board for £55 + the MCB's ( Crabtree Starbreaker)

Accrington branch is the best and they deliver anywhere free via courier

I needed one length of 20mm plastic conduit, 4 saddles and a pack of cable ties last Sat. £17 said the guy behind the counter! I told him to get back inside and recheck figures because although it was a saturday and they are the only wholesaler open it is not an excuse to stick one up my delicate bum hole! He told me that was the best he can do until I told him my employer had an account there worth over a Million £ a year. Suddenly it cost me £9. ******s the lot of them. Only use if I have to.

they stole my dewalt cordless screwdriver

had to get it fixed countless times and on the last occasion when i didnt recieve any phonecall i phoned them and they claimed not to remember it

i went in and politely argued my case until the manager came out and threatened to call the police....just like that now maybe i have a reputation but i hadnt even raised my voice!!!

so thats how they treated my customer complaint and now i wont give them the s*@t from my shoe

on my way out i picked up the expensive 24v dewalt and dumped it in the just emptied skip right outside the doors

wrong i know but i knew i would never be back

they were behind me so saw exactly where it went

swim for it you skiprats how i kept my cool that much is still a mystery to me but at least i can laugh that they had to go in that skip

CEF just off Brick lane in London should be bombed. Its staffed by idiots who dont care. The prices are stupid .Yet they are huge in the USA etc.

i will never spend a penny in their shops ever.

They have a bad reputation all over the trade.

Must say my branch are not too bad. The things to watch are when served by the usual inexperienced staff are making sure you have all the bits you have asked for, as there have been a number of times when I have got to a job only to find some stuff that is on the invoice but not in the bag. Had a few SWA cables a bit short too.

The worst branches I have ever encountered were in Birmingham, where they were very unhelpfull, took ages, and diddnt know about products further than light switches and double sockets. No good, i wanted a contactor with 100 volt coil.
This was 10 years ago now and things could hve changed

We use citys in chichester and have found them very helpful, knowlegable staff, reps coming out to site, quick deliverys for stupid little bits that you forget and sponsored events like go karting and golf. Have found returns to be slow to be credited and some prices more expensive but they have price matched/beaten when asked.
