Re: Wedotrades
Wouldn't touch them with a septic rusty pin to be honest.
A brief look through their terms, published on their site, reveals some scary and probably non-enforcable terms - gems like a £50 admin fee for being in arrears on your "account".....no obligation to continue to provide your "free" 0845/033 number - which they also will not release until the end of your 12/24 month contract with them during which you undertake to pay monthly, by direct debit, in advance.
And why would you want them handling the calls they're allegedly generating for you anyway? Seems a little too convenient....for them to be able to charge for enquiries that have come through other efforts, and happen to dial your "free 0845/033 number"......
I have no major problem with lead generation business, providing only that it actually produces results for the fee - and not one I have ever spoken to is willing to work on a commission basis on leads actually converted. That signifies a lack of belief in their product, a lack of interest in doing the job, and a willingness simply to take money for the "idea" that they're benefiting your business in some way.
To be utterly honest with you, you will produce far better results by taking the same amount "wedo" are asking for, and investing it in a good, well designed website - and an independent, capable telephone answering service. Using the right companies for design and phone answering isn't really that expensive, and will, in the short to medium term produce far more in the way of qualified leads than any one of these myhammerdoestradesinyourgoogle type sites ever will
Quite simply, you are buying unqualified leads, for an up front fee, and in this particular case, you are agreeing to do so for a minimum of 12 months at a minimum, variable rate. Personally, I think sites like these prey on trades people, and need exposing for the cancer they are.Bill

Re: Wedotrades
This is a formal response to what is perhaps best described as unqualified comments made by faceless people or person on web forums against WeDoTrades.
We realise that such forums can be used for a number of reasons and in some cases to keep track that you logged onto the forum by registering cookies on your computer without your knowledge and because we find these and other reasons unpalatable or of no real benefit for the people who call on them for accurate information then we do not intend to respond to any future comments as we treat such comments with suspicion of valid content.
We do not accept what is placed on this or other forum pages to be neither accurate or correct if it contains derogatory remarks about WeDoTrades, we do not believe that such comments are placed there by our customers, if a customer had a genuine bona fide complaint then they would have tried to establish contact with the company to put right any issue they had, the person in the forums did not do this, we nor the reader of such forum content does not know that it is not one person making such false claims.
We accept that we are a real company, we do not hide behind anonymity and make liable comments/remarks that are unsubstantiated, we ask the question can you trust the source or accept what a person says if they do not identify themselves, you like we have no idea if this is a competitor trying to discredit us, we however will not sink to such conduct that we find unprofessional and distasteful.
We would like to say if any person has a genuine issue with this company about what we supply or what they thought we have not delivered then surly we should have the opportunity to put right what’s wrong just the same as we would expect any of our traders have if their work has or develops a problem, to vent it on a public forum must surely beg the question is such a derogatory comment honest and correct, for the avoidance of doubt we say it is not correct.
We understand that mistakes can happen, things can and do go wrong, we know of not one trader that has never had any issues with his work at sometime, anyone can make a mistake its how they put it right that counts, we ask one thing if we have made a mistake, give us that opportunity to put it right, is that an unreasonable request to ask!
Please understand this is our final response to such matters, if our customers contact us, then any issues will be resolved.

Re: Wedotrades
We do trades, do you think you will convert us with that load of copy and pasted nonsense? You will have to try a lot harder than that, there is a 7+ page thread on the associated plumbing forum that shows you up for what you are, lying, cheating con men.

Re: Wedotrades
I read that response, if it can be described as such
Other than a load of waffle,it neither tries or reputes any of the accusations made against it
It seems like a typical response by a company that reaps reward, by bleeding honest tradesmen of hard earned money
The accusations stand and seem to be re inforced by the lack of content of the reply

Re: Wedotrades
Loads of laughter. Just searched for their recommended sparks in my area. Nearest one is 40 mins drive away (so business is booming then) and has two testimonials as follows (names changed to protect the guilty). For those who aren't keen on spot the difference, I've highlighted the identical phrases. Crikey if you're going to cheat, at least try and make it look real.
Testimonial 1: Had some electrical work completed in April 2011 by XXX, The work was completed to a very high standard and within the budget. I would recommend XXX to other customers.
Testimonial 2: In 2011 i had a consumer unit fitted by XXX, This was completed to a very high standard and within the budget. They were very polite and friendly tradesmen who i would highly recommend to other customers.

Re: Wedotrades
I keep hearing Rated People adverts on the radio 'can you afford not to' - YES! I hate all of these websites with a passion, and these wedo jokers are just more of the same. There's too many of them jumping on the bandwagon, none of them offering anything new or different. Things like cancellation fees, minimum contracts and rolling contracts - who needs that?
