Default so wot do i charge an hour ?Any advice on being a self employed

bin a spark for a number of years , but always worked for a company, i'm now starting to

think about going it alone,mainly because im fed up with the long hours and the low

wages, but im worried if id be any better off .whats it like being self employed ? wot can i

expect to earn a week?, is the work out there ?, i get people telling me that thay cant get

a spark for love nor money , so wot do i charge an hour ?Any advice on being a self

employed spark would be greatfully received , im so fed up with working for someone

else

hiya crow hurst. I've been told that there is lots of domestic work via the yellow pages, sparky friends have told me that they've took themselves out of the the yellow pages because they get too many phone calls for work, and tend to work by word of mouth only. am sure someone will give you a pricing scale they work to soon. Jst keep in mind what you need to pay your self(resonable) + materials, eg if you charge them by the day, (or maybe by the wekk) you'd put £100 Labour + material.

if yer got no work then charging the punter £20 pph +materials [yer make ont materials as well] if yer got loads er calls then up it to 25-30 pounds +[really sting em on materials] smirk. .. . . .

I charge £30 / £35 ph + materials with 25% mark up on materials.
