servo vp12????

hi everybody
i want to know some information about this device but i couldn't find any.
on device is wrote" JAPAN servo vp12".when i searched about it, i just find some information in japanese and chinese and also the translation of these pages didn't work well.
could you please help me?

It looks to me like a low profile rotary encoder. With the info "JAPAN servo VP12" I can imagine
that it could be some sort of a positioning device anyway.
If you measure a resistance between any two of the three pins then it could also be a linear precission potentiometer.
Was this thing connected to a servo motor/drive system?

It looks like a poteniometer to me, translated the page best i could and it confirmed it as below hope its of use.

Whats it connected too.

Found this on an American website.Don't mean much to me,but is it to do with audio equiptment

Well in old money a potentiometer with only two of the terminals used is just a variable resistor or Rheostat.

I've seen them used on the volume control on radio's you know the type turn and "click on and off".

I'm so grateful about your attention.
this device connected to motor in "infusion pump" but unfortunatly i couldn't test the resistor of it because it is damaged.

Dont know for sure but my guess would be 2k or 10K
