good luck for the 23rd then.
in all honesty i dont know of any other tip than to revise, revise, revise then revise some more
because the exam is closed book you need as much information logged on the brain as possible to crack this exam.
all the best with the exam.

    Section A

    1) List THREE relevant documents that must be completed and handed to the client, after the inspection and testing of a newly installed motor circuit.

    2) List three items of information that should be made available to a person carrying out an initial verification of an electrical installation.

    3) A newly installed radial circuit in a production area of a factory is to be inspected & tested. State:-
    a) ONE statuary document that is relevant to the inspection process.
    b) TWO practical considerations for the inspector before testing the circuit.

    4) State THREE items to be checked when inspecting the erection methods of an installation constructed using mineral insulated cables fixed to a cable tray.

    5) State THREE factors that may influence the extent of a periodic inspection and test of an installation.

    6) List THREE tests that require the use of a low resistance ohmmeter.

    7) List the THREE tests that follow an earth electrode resistance test in the sequence identified in Guidance Note 3 for an initial verification.

    8) List THREE items that may be connected to a Main Earthing Terminal (MET) by means of a main equipotential bonding conductor.

    9) Describe briefly how the resistance of a 20M long, main equipotential bonding conductor may be measured.

    10) The following test results were recorded when measuring the conductor resistance of the Line, Neutral and CPC of a ring final circuit, consisting of six socket outlets.
    Line 0.48W
    Neutral 0.46W
    Cpc 0.80W
    State
    a) Why the resistance of the cpc is greater than the resistance of the Line and Neutral conductors.
    b) The value of resistance expected between line & neutral at each socket outlet, if the line & neutral are correctly connected in the distribution board
    c) The pattern of results in b) if the phase and neutral conductors were incorrectly interconnected at the distribution board.

    11) State the possible effect on insulation resistance test values when
    a) The number of circuits tested at the same time is increased.
    b) A neon indicator is left in circuit during test.
    c) A tungsten lamp is left in a lampholder & its local switch is left open.

    12) State the units of measurements that each of the following instruments indicate
    a) RCD tester
    b) Low resistance ohmmeter
    c) Insulation resistance tester

    13) A test is to be carried out between live conductors of a SELV circuit and conductors of a 400V three-phase motor circuit to prove electrical separation. State the
    a) Test instrument to be used
    b) Test voltage to be applied
    c) Minimum value of insulation resistance permitted by BS7671

    14) List three special installations or locations, as defined in BS7671, that may be permanently present in a domestic installation

    15) Describe briefly three environmental conditions that require equipment enclosures to meet an appropriate IP code of classification.

    16) An earth electrode resistance test is to be carried out on an installation forming part of a TT system using an earth loop impedance tester. State......
    a) What action must be taken prior to carrying out the test with regard to the
    i) Electrical supply to the installation
    ii) Earthing conductor
    b) The action to be taken regarding the earthing conductor once a measurement has been made.

    17) A direct measurement of external earth loop impedance is to be carried out. State....
    a) The instrument to be used
    b) The reference document that is relevant to the test leads
    c) A typical test value for a domestic installation forming part of a TN-S system

    18) A circuit earth loop impedance value may be determined by calculation using the formula
Zs=Ze+R1+R2 State what is represented by each of the following.

    19) State one practical example for the use of each of the following.
    a) 30mA
    b) 100mA
    c) 500mA

    20) Explain briefly the possible consequences of a protective device interrupting a fault current that is larger than its rated breaking capacity.
