Default Qulifications help??

Hello, my name is Ste, ive gained my, NVQ2 in elec wiring, BTEC national cert in elec and electronic engineering,PAT testing 2377(1+2) i am starting the 17th edition wireing regs in september..

I have a couple of questions that i would like your help with...

1) Is the BTEC national cert equivalent to the City and Guilds 2330 course??

I have been working in the maint engineering industry and would like a change...

Thanks in advance

Hi there

ONC is equivalent to city and guilds level 3 although they are two different qualifications and so im not sure how you would go about joining the NIC for example

I cant see why you couldnt get a job in the industry with those qualifications

Just out of interest why would you want to go from maintenance engineer to electricians mate?

Thanks for the quick reply mate.. i would say more of a technician than an engineer.. havent got my HNC and above to be classed as an engineer. i was working as a multi-skilled technician and i was made redundant last october, went bankrupt blah bla bla... Basically i want a change sick of being oily dirty and wearing dam overalls.. i have done a bit house wiring and i enjoy it, being a mate would just be a stepin stone to becoming fully qualified one day...also im planning on going to australia in 18 month and would like to be a sparky mate out there.
