What type of cable is it?

As pennywise said cable ties but would use metal ones, reason is that with them being outside PVC ty-raps go brittle and hard with UV light etc thus cable can fall off catenery

the cable is swa. I was thinking cable ties but agree that plastic is no good. who stocks metal ties? I would have assumed my local wholesaler but I dont see them in his catalogue. thanks

Ian is right they will breakdown become brittle over time. You can get UV resistant nylon ones which stay playable, the metal ones can be hard to get on sometimes and cut you hands to buggery, Both ways will do the job. Cheers

Screwfix or electrixfix even do them I think .

Dont forget to leave a half loop off cable at either end, this way if its hit then the cat' wire takes the strain although not as big an issue with swa than pvc cables.

Also serves as a "drip loop" and stops water travelling down the cable and into wherever it is the cable goes.

Sealing any holes is advisable too.

I use the wire wire cut when terminating the swa. Quick loop and twist, and its free!

Once did a PIR on an ex council semi. No need for catenery wire, just use clothes pegs and peg orange Black and Decker extension lead to washing line, to supply shed, job done. Even had wet washing hanging from it

THE IMPOSSIBLE I CAN DO AT ONCE, MIRACLES CAN TAKE A LITTLE LONGER
