immersion heater high limit stat probs

seem to be getting a lot of problems with the high limit stats on new immersion heaters tripping out have tried several makes they all seem to have the same problem is anyone else having the problem or found an answer

Been back to one twice recently...definately not covered or water too hot,so yes...seems there are problems.

You two should compare notes on manufacturers then. You could have uncovered an on going problem.

As Tony suggests, we have had the same problem with the sats with the integrated manual reset trip. We got the Co in and they said yep thats what they do sometimes but you can buy from us a more accurate stat that will cost slightly more.

Now I know a lot of us here will be shouting at the screen - but I want what I paid for to work properly! I know what you mean - however as a fix we are tweaking down the stat temp so the device becomes less likely to trip however you run the risk of turning it too low or the device still tripping again if not done enough. Where's the goldilocks meter when you need one.

Its easier for us to buy the more expensive stat. Speak to your wholesaler he might have a solution for you in the long term.
