Re: Schneider C.U
Well it's Schneider so it should be decent quality at least.

Re: Schneider C.U
Probably one of, if not the best name in LV DB's, protective devices, etc etc etc.... what else do you need to know??
That is, if it's the Merlin Gerin kit that's on offer, renamed of course!! lol!!!Last edited by Engineer54; 13-01-2012 at 09:06 PM.

Re: Schneider C.U
Yep agreed. If someone installed a Schneider CU in my house I wouldn't complain.

Re: Schneider C.U
How do they get away with that then? Surely if it's Square D it should be badged as such?

Re: Schneider C.U
a part of the contract im on at the mo is to fit Schnieder CU's. i dont like them. Granted the type we fit are the IP 56 version, but i dont like the neutral and earth connections. also there is barely any room in them.
By the time youve gained enough experience to satisfy the old boys, your too old and knackered to use it!

Re: Schneider C.U
Personally, i think it was one hell of a mistake to replace the Merlin Gerin brand name with ''Schneider'' virtually an unknown name in many of the world markets MG was top of the tree in....
We used MG for all our MV Main Switchboards, RMU's, as well as for the complete LV side from Main Switchboards to final DB boards. Still using Schneider mind for everything, just doesn't sound right, if you know what i mean!! ....lol!!

Re: Schneider C.U
why pay £64 + VAT, when you can buy a 10 way dual RCD, hi integrity BG board from b&q for £50 inc. VAT?

Re: Schneider C.U
MV ? I thought there was only LV and HV?
Sorry Eng, could not resist
But I agree, I recently had to add a circuit to a MG board, and the website that I bought the MCB from showed a MG one in the item description, but then shipped a Schneider badged one. I'm sure my customer thought I was pulling a fast one.Apparently Sting is able to **** his wife for five hours without going off.
I know how he feels...... my wife is no oil painting either.
