Well i would like to be an Electrician, But if not im going to either do Plumbing or Plasterer
If i dont get accepted for the JTL Training Course, im going to apply for an Apprentiscship with Redrow Homes to be an Electrical Engineer
Seems to be a good path and Exciting to do + i like a bit of hard work.

Consider first whether you wish to be a domestic or commercial electrician. Over the years they seem to be becoming more specialised fields. Generally, commercial electricians seem to earn a bit more. Get in with a good company, all these government schemes are nothing but a load of worry. Some of the larger commercial firms may be your best bet if you are going down that road. Wherever you find large construction going on, ask for the site manager or someone in authority and put it to them that you are looking for an apprenticeship with their electrical subcontractors. They will point you in the right direction. If you get offered a job labouring for an electrical company, take it, and then ask them if they will take you on as an apprentice (after you have shown them your worth). A personal appearance at a site is far better than sending in a letter, and showing them you are willing to work and turn up on time is even better again. Dont forget specialised work such as installing elevators can often pay very well! Good Luck.

Commercial paying more than domestic??? All the employed sparks I know woking in commercial earn standard JIB rates - what are they? About £12 an hour? That works out about £400 a week. On my firm we specialise in domestic primarily but earnings of £800 a week are the norm. Just a little confused I am
