Default Bane Needs A Job

Hello Boys and Girls,

Well, what can I say? The title says it all really.

Been working in the industrial/commercial side of things (not advers to doing some domestic work). I have about 6 months experience (1st and 2nd fix) fitting conduit (plastic and galv), trunking, tray, basket etc.

Also pulling cable, armoured, FP, etc. Chasing out, fitting of back boxes etc. Can read drawings. Have my own transport. Own basic tool kit, cordless (no SDS).

I'm not the fastest worker in the world but I do get stuck in, get my head down and get on with it. Reliable and punctual. Long working hours are not a problem. Starting college in September (2330). 29 years old. Live in East Riding of Yorkshire.

Think that's about it for now! Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

Cheers people.

All the best Bane ,something will turn up ,just dont give up ,i still think the Electrical trade is over subscribed at present ,as work drops off people leave the trade ,the wage goes down ,and you have to travel father, but thats the way of it ,and those on the forum who think different ,well ,give it untill the new year and i think the situation will be very different
hopefully you picked up enough in six months to make it look like 6 years on an agengy cv ,if you need references ,bung somone, even consider offering an agent a few quid ,most will put them selves about a bit more if a suitable reward is on offer, you will need to fight a little dirty to stay in the trade

I think your longevity in the trade depends on your area of specialism Rum. For example, if just wiring new build then your days are numbered. However, working for local authorities - the work will always be there because it is a budget set by central government. I agree though - shades of the late 80's / early 90's for building co's

Yes thats right ,but as the bigger industrial jobs shut down or dont start ,manufacturing grinds to a halt ,all the versitile sparks start wiring houses, and the pay leval drops ,and for the local orthority to order the work council tax rises,

Cheers you 2 (as always).

Well Cirrus, I do still have a job, I'd just spat my dummy out when I posted this thread. Bad week and all that. verything ok now, I've stopped crying.

Also, with seeing the torrential flood of job offers coming in for me on here, thought I'd better bite the bullet, keep my mouth shut, nod politely and get on with it.

Hi Wayne,

I am employed as a labourer/mate (but on labourers rate). Registered as self employed.

Too be honest it's quite a long story and the short of it is, I think this guy has taken a dislike towards me. Always having a pop every other day and I wouldn't mind mate if I genuinely thought I was fuc*ing around but I don't. I just get on with whatever job is given me. Not the fastest worker in the world but I get the job done.
