I found it very hard to get a job, the technique I did was send letters out. I Had a cover letter and a 2 page Cv, all printed on quailty carded coloured paper. With windowed envolopes. It might sound a little over the top, but that extra bit you put into your letters makes the difference. I had people ringing me up telling me how nicely presented the cv and letter was, but unable to offer me a job. Eventually somebody took a chance on me and have taken me on. My hour paid is low at the moment but once I get some experience it'll go up.

I sent around 350 letters off, to companies not offering jobs. Actually the current company I'm with wasn't offering any jobs at the time but still took me on.

If you keep looking something will turn up, usually when your least expecting it.

Hiya Luke you dont have a copy of both your letter and C.V i can have look through to get some ideas, im thinking of sending 250-300 out myself to find work and then train up via college or a suitable training provider.

you want my email mate just let me know

Thanks .... Jay

some one mentioned agency work
while employment agencies are generally lying set of b*********ds they can at least get you on site and starting with the experience bit
if you do get a start then you work hard and leave your contact details with the firm
and by the way if you are crap you'll be found out and bounced off my site .One guy didn't even get through the gate!!!!!

This may be an obvious question......why doesn't anyone get out on their own any more? If you have 17th and 2391 you are obviously competent, so why not go it alone. You can cherry pick jobs to suit, and grow your experience that way......
(Isn't that the way it always worked?)
Seems a ball ache sending 300+ cvs out.....

Hi randy,
Experiance is the key ,qualifications cover the legalitys ,experiance makes the dosh ,knowing which jobs to leave alone ,how to get the money out of bad payers ,easy, quick ways to do a job ,how to price your work ,cash flow ,who to employ ,where to get the work ,only the brave go there ,the rewards are high ,but sos the risk ,i know
atvbitwww

The copper price is up again ,5 fold since 2001 ,maybee then taking it out is more profitable than putting it in! im considering the scrap business, myself ,
