Good Luck

Re: olymipc electricians
shortterm engineers were looking for sparks a few weeks agoon they olympic site, paying good money too, about 11ph!

Im sure, that there are enough people of all nationalities that would work for that though!By the time youve gained enough experience to satisfy the old boys, your too old and knackered to use it!

Re: olymipc electricians
I got a start at the olympics site this week(atheletes village) for 13 pound a hour(9 hours a day)same rate at the weekends.I started wednesday and quit on friday. The worst job i have ever been on.The sites like a concentration camp,i had to go through 4 check points to get to where i was working.you have to hand your bags and tools over to be searched and xrayed, they even have sniffer dogs going all through your stuff. The company i worked for was Briggs and Forrester, and they treat you like dirt,no materials and they are on your back all day, start at 8 finish at 5 .Theres a lot of work starting there over the next few months and they will need hundreds of sparks.I got the job through the agency "options"(Telephone-01444473353).Tom

Re: olymipc electricians
If everybody on this forum mailed their local MP and aired their views something might get done.
If the foreigners were to be paid at the same rates set out by the unions ( JIB or Blue Book) then perhaps the firms might be more eager to employ British workers instead of unqualified, unregistered, cheap foreign labour
