Electricians mate job desperately required
Hi i am new to this website but after reading some of the post similar to mine it seems very good and helpful so thought i would give it a go. I am just finishing up c&g 2330 level 3 in the next couple of months and loved very minute of it but am in desperate need of practical experience! i have sent out over 200 letters each year ive been on the 2330 course to every electrical contractor/company in and around my area (Milton Keynes) but with no luck what so ever. I am 22, very keen to work...the job i am in at the moment i do on average 65 hours a week so long hours and hard work does not phase me atall! however i do not have a driving license at the moment and think this is obviously letting me down. can any body help/offer advice? or possibly even know anybody in my area that might be worth contacting?
any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Re: Electricians mate job desperately required
send out some quailty CV's on cream carded paper, with each address mail merged, in open window letters, folded correctly. Trust me that'll give you a better chance. and send about 300 out too, in batches of 50. It'll cost you more than waht you think too, paper ink - stamps about £200 if nnot more. But its worth it

Danzor,
What agency work do you mean, labouring? if not what else? I did labouring for a day, humping york stone from one pallet to another all day is not my idea of "assisting tradesmen".

Re: Electricians mate job desperately required
I hate to say it but as is said above, take what work you can on site. We are hearing more and more of guys doing the 2330 and being unable to get jobs. Personally, I wouldn't embark on such a course for 3 years unless I had got into the trade already (as I did) as the thought of getting the quals and being unable to use them would be totally demoralising.

Re: Electricians mate job desperately required
Ben i am in the same shoes as you. Your following quote is bang on.
"just need somebody to give me a chance first, all employers ive spoken to say they want somebody with experience, but nobody is willing to give us a chance to get some experience!"
That is 100% true.
nobody is willing to give us a chance, so how the f**k are we ment to get experience !
