Dear Simon B,

I'm absolutly fascinated by your situation as it seems to be in the sort of situation I would like to be in in a few years time. I was wondering if I could pick your brains about a few things?
(a) How old are you, and did you go to university?
(B) How long did it take you to train, from scratch, to reach where you are now?
(c) Have you earned any money yet and how do you feel about the prospects being a sparky offers now that you are some way through the proccess?

I ask all this becasue i'm seriously considering down the long and slighty sad route of retraining (thanks useless degree) and am wondering if this course is one work taking. I would greatly appreciate any feedback you can offer me.
