Default building control and certs

can anyone tell me if building control will accept major works certs, if not in a niceic or similar body, many thanks derek

Presume you mean generic EIC's and Minor Works certs?

its not a case of 'will they', it is a case of 'they have to' in accordance with the Part P rules.

Although they might need reminding of that!

Bare in mind that they are not electricians, and most have never seen BS7671

I have heard of LABC's saying 'what is this?' when presented with a generic EIC. Because its not got NICEIC on the top, company logo etc they get confused

Just gently remind them that its a valid BS7671 cert which the Apprived Document to Part P of the Buildings Regs requires
