 |  hi every1 hello friends, i am actually computer technician but i am bored, i want to be electrician and i want to go to course but before that i want to buy some books and study b4 course, unfortunately, i dont know where i start from. what is the first step for being an electrician. 2381, 2391, or part p? is courses realy useful, do you have any idea about good books for studying and for the exams? too many questions? :-) |

Books: BS7671 On Site Guide Any books by Brian Scadden All guidance note books (GN3 you'll need for c&g 2391 course) Basic electrical installation by Trevor linsley Advanced electrical installation by Trevor linsley Electrical installation calculations volume 1 & 2 by A. J. Watkins and Christopher James Kitcher. "The part P doctor" book is a good read aswell. Things to buy: Scientific calculator VDE tool set (drivers / pliers / cutters etc) Test kit (when you qualify it's expensive) GS38 voltage indicator Fish tape Pull rods (trunking lid works just aswel) To many to list but you'll always want & need to buy more. Insurance & other costs: Two million public liability Employers liability Proffessional indemnity (if yu do periodic test inspections) Yearly part P payments to scheme operator. Cost of more college courses to keep up with regulations Good luck it's a good & interesting industry & you never stop learning, I still enjoy getting up for work anyway. | |
