Okay I am coming up to renew on van insurance, do you all take out tool insurance, my tools are never left in van overnight or if are it is in the garage locked up. I read something today on putting the amount spent on insurance away every year to pay should something go walk about, views? £1k locked in van insurance is £64.

just had a quote for PL insurance, 2mill and 2k on tools included.. £115 for the year.

Did it have indemnity insurance, I end up getting stuffed as I have a general maintenance/builder extension to my policy and with indemnity insurance it works out at about £265 without tools. A mate of mine who used to work in insurance says a man is not adequately insured until the cost of his premiums exceed his available cashflow!:)

Hi all
just had renewal went to another company from what I normally use beat the cost by £100.00, like for like went through on phone with my old paperwork.
turns out when I got the email documents they had missed off the professional indemnity insurance for got on it that day, they had to check phone records & said it was mentioned & was a grey area but had to get refund.
had to go back to old insurance company for change back left me with 6 days out of insurance because of their incompetence.
renewal was £743.00.
10mil employ
5 mil public
500 full indemnity
