branch

A branch, sometimes called a ramus in botany, is a woody structural member connected to but not part of the central trunk of a tree (or sometimes a shrub). Large branches are known as boughs and small branches are known as twigs. The term twig often refers to a terminus, while bough refers only to branches coming directly from the trunk.
Due to a broad range of species of trees, branches and twigs can be found in many different shapes and sizes. While branches can be nearly horizontal, vertical, or diagonal, the majority of trees have upwardly diagonal branches. A number of mathematical properties are associated with tree branchings; they are natural examples of fractal patterns in nature, and, as observed by Leonardo da Vinci, their cross-sectional areas closely follow the da Vinci branching rule.

RV Park branch circuit feeder size

I am working on a RV Park and I have a question. I plan on installing 4/0 quadraplex AL URD cable to 10 pedestals on a 200 amp circuit and downsizing the wire to 2/0 Quadraplex AL URD cable for the last 4 pedestals. I have calculated voltage drop and everything is below 4%. Table 310.16 says...

    Strange lighting issue

Had 2 new lighting groups installed on a multi wire branch circuit that used to be used for kitchen outlets. The 12-3 cable enters the switch box where the neutral is tied to the 2 neutrals from the lights. Hots go to 3 way switches with travelers sent to 3 way dimmers in another box. Hots are...

Power Panel Changes Voltage with Branch Circuits

I have a Single Phase Power box for a townhouse. When I read voltage across the Hot legs (A) and (B) to ground I get 123 volts with the main breaker turned off. With all the circuit breakers turned off and powering up the main breaker to the panel I still have 123 volts across both (A) and (B)...

    No Volts on Branch Circuit

Hello all, As a member of various other Forums I understand that after reading the “guidance sticky” (done!) I should use search to see if others have shared my situation. Gonna pass on that last step (the Auto-search on my question was a nice touch) and get right to it. I have a small shed...

Code regarding main and branch breakers

I’m looking to add a GFCI breaker to my main panel. I have several open slots and have not reached the circuit capacity of my panel. However, the main breaker is not located at the top of the panel. See picture. Is there any reason (code or otherwise) I can’t locate a circuit breaker above the...
