I am thinking of buying a second hand tester, but it is displaying error 52, any thoughts on what this means, and weather it needs to be repaired. Megger 1720
Hi I have a second hand Megger MFT1720 and it shows error 23 and wanted to sell this, I have a hard case and all cables that come with it.
It was calibrated 2017 cert no STD45397 Serial no 101292160

Hi All,
Just purchased the mft1741+it seems good but my old mft 1721, when doing a ZE or ZS reading it would start automatically and stop once the test was complete. Ive got the new one to start automatically now, but when it brings up the result it keeps measuring and i have to press the test...
I have been offered a very well looked after unit . The price is £160 with all accessories etc . Calibration finished 3 weeks ago. Unit compares reading with another calibrated unit .so a possible good buy ?????
Today i had the megger dropped from a meter height and is now showing the FUS code.
Checked the fuses, Both are good. Contacts look very good. New batteries installed but still get the same code. I did the reset just in case but no results.
This Megger is not in the warranty, is quite old and...
Not mine , but thought I would pop a link here as someone might fancy it ...

As title, select the correct settings L-L L-E on left and As on right, am unable to change mode (2Lo 2Hi etc.
Screen comes up with <50v but does nothing else.
Any ideas? Runs continuity and IR fine, not tried RCD
Hi as per title, looking for a megger or fluke multifunction tester must be in excellent condition and fully functional.
Please let me know what you have.
Cheers.
Dear all. Does anyone know who can repair my MFT, continuity not stabilising and fluctuates. I know it's the banana connection for the leads as this is a known fault, mine has been replaced / repaired every calibration. No longer supported so parts not available. Cant bear to part with it.
My megger 1741 has come up with the code seen in the video clip.
I was doing a Ze. I disconnected the main earth from the earth bar in the CU when testing.
I believe that it means it would not let me carry out the test as the 'touch voltage' would be too great, but I don't know what the Ut bit...
I have recently acquired a Megger RCDT320 second hand from fleabay. It won't do auto testing on 300mA, 500mA or 1000mA also on these ranges it won't do x5 manually. The display reads > 1000mA. It does the ramp test ok on these settings. Is this faulty or how it is.
Thanks Mack.
Hi
How do people get on with the 1741 software for transferring test results into a report? Any links to seeing it in action would be appreciated? I could not find any on Utube, i guess i am not looking for the right name?
Thanks
John
I have got it down to the choice of 2 MFTs. I am looking at either the Megger 1741+ or the Metrel MI 3152 EurotestXC.
The megger looks like a good workhorse favoured by many electricians, but the Metrel looks like a leap forward in technology.
In terms of future-proofing for EV chargers etc...

none of that plastic rubbish :)
Does anyone have one going spare? I appear to have misplaced it/them. I can find the crocs, GS38 tips but no leads.
Unlikely I use 3 lead testing bit it does my OCD no good not having them in the box ?
Hi guys
Do you carry out an insulation resistance test on a 3 phase motor with thermistor protection as you would without thermistor protection or does extra caution or process need carrying out differently?
First time coming across one
Thanks
