Hi... I am Shamsul from Malaysia
I have a question regarding to earth fault current if occur inside 240V single phase customer house/building
1.May explain how the earth fault current flow route
2.If got local earthing was connected from ground to 11kV 3phase DEAD line, is it the fault current...
Hi everyone i have recently had a 3 phase supply and board install in a domestic house, this will supply the house which has 12 circuits for light ring mains and ac units etc as well as in the future a 3 phase workshop, single phase workshop, 2 x 1 bed lodges, hot tub, solar panels and electric...
So today, I get a phone call from one of the bosses customers. No power or lights in workshop. (3 phase DB feeds single phase DB).
Says the lights flicker on when 3 phase compressor tries to run. My guess over phone was a lost phase, or neutral problem
The boss went out later and confirmed my...
Hi there
I preface this query with: I am an almost complete electrical novice. I need to control the speed, startup and slow down of a 2100W induction AC motor through a VFD. My workshop has ordinary Australian 240v single phase supply. I can find plenty of VFDs that convert single phase to 3...
Hello all,
I have discussed my power install before as i am sure a lot of you will remember as it is quite different to a normal setup.
I have a split phase / Bi Phase system, 2 phases coming into the workshop from a center tapped transformer. 240v phase to neutral and 480 phase to phase.
I have...
Hi guys
Do you carry out an insulation resistance test on a 3 phase motor with thermistor protection as you would without thermistor protection or does extra caution or process need carrying out differently?
First time coming across one
Thanks
Hi there,
I have currently started working on a farm and they are having a new 100a 3 phase supply installed.
This is being terminated in an external enclosure. They then want to carry this 3 phase 150 meters to a barn and at this point split it into 3 single phase supplies. Is this even...
Hi Everyone
May be someone could shed some insight on the sizing and provide some suggestions:
3 phase Generators (400 V, 50 Hz) have the ability to sustain 250% kVA of its rated kVA at 30% voltage dip.
Suppose a machine needs to be powered by a standby generator during a power outage. It...
If I have a 240/480 volt dual voltage single phase motor connected by 2.5mm 2c+e to an isolator and then just 1mm flex coming out with active, neutral and earth connected is it possible the power supply to be 480v or is it most definitely 240v
Got a customer with a 3 phase looped cut out. Only use one of the phases and there is likely a second fuse on the adjacent holder/phase.
I have asked the DNO to take a look and advise as the customer wants an EV charger. With a looped supply you should get dnos advise first. ENA guidance also...
