Time to renew some of my Screwdrivers again. The set I'm currently using are Wera which for comfort of use I quite like, problem is 2 of the Pz head drivers have shattered now whilst I've been using them.
Looking for recommendations for the best make out there.

I have recently fitted 6 GU10 Downlights 230V on a customers landing with 5W Cool LED GU10's. When he turns off his light one light is still slightly on. I know this has something to do with the two way switching for the landing and a bit of...
As I lack practical experience and recently failed to impress NICEIC into Registering me, I thought I could build my own test rig then test the hell out of it and try to develop fault-finding skills before paying for another assessment.
My rig is deliberately non-logical - eg I have a switch on...

Must be on a plug top and you must have used it in the last year.
Mine is a weller soldering gun think I got this for my 12th birthday in 1972. 2 heats and instant warm up trigger action. This is a pic from the net and the pins on the plug are not shielded

Hi all,
Anyone know if or where I can get new mains test leads for the Robin 1630? I saw a post of a few years ago about some merger leads that might fit, if anyone has tried them I'd be grateful if you'd let me know,
Cheers

Hi guys
Selling my Metrix MX57 EX Multimeter. It is in almost new condition and has never really been used. Still in the case and with the LCD cover still in place. It is currently out of calibration due to its lack of use. Ideally I'm looking for offers on it but for what it is I'm not looking...
Hi folks,
I occasionally get calls for appliance repairs, and got one tonight from a stressed sounding chippy owner about his deep fat fryer. I politely turned him down and gave him the number of someone I know who deals with appliances, as I knows very little really. But then it got me...
Got a call from a local builder this week, asking if I could come and "have a look at a job". Upon asking what it was he said electrics in a new extension. So, as it was on my way home I called in for a butchers. Turns out it has already been done and he just want's "a sparky to issue a cert". I...
I had a caravan on the Beachcomber site at Cleethorpes for 20 years. The local contract electrician was called Rowley.
He was a quiet old man who Just got on with the job and did it. I often wondered if he had a bad back as he always came out of a caravan backwards, if the steps were at the...
