Any help would be appreciated
Hi, I want to put downlights in my fire surround - possibly 3 but more likely going to be 2. They are 0.4w LED lights. I have a 12v 8w LED driver with a 6 way TOP connector on the end. I want to add an on/off rocker switch but I'm confused as to whether I need an SPST or an SPDT switch for this...
DYI guy here with some basic knowledge of electrical craft. I am helping a buddy in his remodeled bathroom. His GFCI outlet was powered off vanity light and every time you shut off the light, the power of receptacle goes off. That makes sense.
What doesn't make sense is I moved outlet on other...
Basically as title, but can anyone recommend a good one. So far not seen a good one that I like, fitted a few for customers where you have to attach the chain to the normal string which is rubbish. It's for my own bathroom I want a chrome ceiling fitting and chrome chain as the strings just get...
Hi guys,
We’ve had a new CNC Machine from China arrive this week. It came with a monitor and a tower to run the software. The monitor and tower were already plugged in to an extension lead that was wired through the slotted trunking, I took all the lids off and traced the extension lead cable...
Is the following set up possible with a 3 Gang 2 Way Smart Wifi Switch set up (the black glass type touch ones)
One of the 3 switches, switches the loft light on/off
The second one switches a motion sensor outside which is connected to two up/down lanterns on and off plus they have override...
Hi all, the main horn on my Fiat Punto stopped working - went around the houses to fix it including the clockspring but to no avail. Now wired up a momentary switch running power from my electric windows.
Turn the car on, the windows work, press the horn and the horn works. Excellent. Press...
hello guys, hope you’re all well.
We are looking at installing the Hager SFT240 changeover switch to three live aboard boats with an electric hookup and a generator on board.
We were looking for a bit of advice if possible please? (We’ve actually asked several independent sparkies to come...
Hi guys.
I posted yesterday about a suspected faulty starter motor..
I've had the starter out and cleaned everything up and all seems to be working well.
Bench tests well everytime.
And at a price of $2200 for a new starter motor I'm going to look elsewhere for the problem.
My suspicion now lies...
Hello everyone, I'd like to seek your input on a matter. I'm in the process of designing the electrical connections for the following kitchen appliances:

I live in the UK and have a switch box that I'd like to replace, but it seems to have non-standard screws, closer to the center than what I can find online. I'd like to know what standard this is so I can search for the right thing. Thanks!
Hi,
I have recently moved in to a house where there is a switch outside the bathroom that controls the power to the shaver socket.
Never seen this before and every other shaver socket I have seen is permanently on.
Can I safely remove this switch so the power to the shaver socket is always...
Hi all,
Hopefully just a quick one, but I can't seem to find a definite answer.
Will a push to break/make (ie not momentary) 2 way retractive switch work correctly with a standard 2 way switch and an intermediate switch?
So 3 way switching with one of the 2 ways being a retractive type?
The...
I have Liebherr fridge freezer and need to extend the cable from the appliance to the wall plug.
The directions do not allow an extension lead to be used for this purpose. What should I do?
Thank you

Hi,
I am looking to convert a 2 way light into just control by single switch.
I have searched and looked for similar questions here, and found a perfect similar thread, even down to the reason for wanting to remove the switch due to using smart switches and automations.
The thread is here...
I'm considering using several of the remote WiFi switch sets to control a group of five different lights. The existing switches are all grouped together at a spot across from the entry to a 40' long basement. Getting to them to turn on any light means feeling your way in the dark to get to the...
Hi New to this forum, Just looking for some advise as a DIY person. I have recently purchased a new home. I have come across a wall light which seems to be PL, and therefore always on. I have tried all switches in the home one by one and none turn it off, I cant see any switches nearby or fuse...
FYI --- This is a U.S. installation. I'm replacing a three way switch (the UK might more sensibly call it a two way switch??) with a Kasa Smart Switch. See the picture. I'm trying to identify the line (power) and two traveler wires, and this particular switch doesn't look what I've normally...
