My kitchen has track lighting.
It consists of three halogen light bulbs.
I've had the fixture for more than 25 years with no issues.
Last night as I was standing in the kitchen all the lights went out.
At first I thought it was a power failure in the neighborhood.
But I quickly saw that there...
When a 20W LED spotlight of the same brand and design is added to a 5-meter single-wire track system, which already has four 30W LED spots connected to a Varilight 300W 2-Way LED Replacement Dimmer Module, the entire track system experiences dimming. Why does this happen?
I have a track light whose power supply failed.
I would like to replace the power supply but am unsure as to what to replace it with and how to connect it to the track.
I do not know the type of track I have.
I could put up to 6 50W 12V halogen bulbs on the track.
How do I determine what type...

Hello,
I'm wondering if tracks that were installed 15-20 years ago, but maybe are even older, can accept modern fixtures, and if yes, what kind. I think, but am not sure, that the brand of the track is "Lightolier". I have some pictures, which I can make available, if someone thinks s/he might...
So someone has asked suggestions as how to upgrade lights in a small narrow kitchen in a new build. The kitchen has a low ceiling - albeit subjectively (the guy is 6'7" and at the moment only blocks the light from the one pendant where ever he is in the room). Obvious choice would have been...
