Hello , this may have been asked before but have not stumbled upon it yet. I am studying electrical installations 2365 and wondered when i have completed nvq level 3 am i then an electrician . my tutor says yes " on paper " but when i check the course online it says succesful completion of level 3 can lead to 2357 and jib registered . so does that mean i can not be registered if i just have 2365 . im puzzled and would greatly appreciate some help , thanks.

The 2365 is the underpinning knowledge part of electrical understanding, however it does not include the practical application parts i.e. the NVQ 3 and AM2.

The 2365 diploma consists of levels 2 and 3 and once these are complete then you can transfer over to do the NVQ3 via the 2357, this will also include the practical assessment AM2, once all these are complete then you are a qualified electrician on paper, some practical experience would generally be needed to operate effectively as an electrician.

You would not be able to get a JIB (ECS) gold card without the NVQ3 .
