Like hes going to hit anywhere near that with a temp db, sounds like absolute nonsense

What is nonsense Sparky Joe?

3 phase 9kva = 2.4kw per phase. In view the phases are now not balanced as only one is being used, as soon as the load exceeds 2.4kw the whole supply will trip out. Even using a few power tools and the odd light or three will push it near to its limits on one phase. Having lived and worked in France, I fail to see why the guy has not donjob correctly in the first place and used all three phases.

They must be using some pretty special circuit breakers in France then if it will operate as soon as the supply exceeds 2.4KW, they must have awful trouble with inrush currents and nuisance tripping too!

EDF fit a 500mA main breaker as standard, but charge a higher standing charge depending on the ra ting of the fuse they install. When we were there our supply was 18kva on a 3 phase supply but the standing charge was about 700 euros a year.

That's nearly 60 euro's a month, that's a rip-off and half, no wonder EDF can come to the UK and buy up DNO areas!! lol!!

Electric showers don't exist in France.

Now that's not a bad thing at all!! I've never had an electric shower in any of the properties i've ever owned in the UK/Overseas. Or come to that, in any of the company apartments i've lived in over the years. Where i'm living now, is the first time i've had an electric shower, and at 4.7KW is a mere fraction of some of the units available in the UK!!

I'd be a bit miffed mind having to use a 800W kettle, waiting 10 minutes to get a cup of coffee just ain't on!! ...lol!!

Our electricity bill was averaged 120 euros pper month and that was for an electric oven, lighting and powe, we had gas (propane) central heating. EDF are really the only supplier in France, so they can charge what they like and people have to pay it.

Many French people we know don't have kettles, they still put saucepans of water on to boil.

As far as i remember we were paying around 140/180 Euros per two months in Cyprus, and thats with induction hob, and oven. swimming pool, A/C's, power/lighting... Hot water being provided by solar panels, that kept the water hot throughout the summer months and most of the day in the winter months...
