Discuss A botch job innit Matey???? in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Yep I would take pride in my work if I fitted "choc boxes" and circular junction boxes to downlights, he is the product of modern teaching methods, looks the part has all the shiny tools and gadgets and that is where it ends.

He wants to have a quick look at Reg 559.5.1 to realise that circular junction box is not a suitable luminare coupler nor does it incorporate cord restraint. Just noticed the sunglasses on his head what a ****.
Quick question as have been out of the game for a while what would be the correct method/junction box for this job?

should fit through the downlight hole so it's accessible by pulling out the fitting.should have cable restraints on the cable sheath,a wagobox is ideal esp with lever wagosrather than screw terminal blocks.

He is probably a perfectly decent bloke but it irritates the --- off me when people post YouTube videos using inappropriate installation methods.
So sorry Westy I'll try and find some correct install methods for your amusement.

Apart from his over the top fake jack the lad (but really a posh boy) video personality I quite like him.

For me it's nice to see how a sparks goes about certain situations and what jobs he undertakes.

Although I don't take everything he does or says as "correct"

He does seem to take pride so top marks for that

Young guy who worked for me years ago liked coffee. Made by wife strong and he drank it throughout the day until one time he thought he was having a heart attack. People near him called an ambulance and eventually it turned out he took too much caffeine in via his over doing the coffee. Never have that trouble with gin.
