Hi there! I have to do a condition report for a comercial installation. The place have 3 DB with 138 circuits for the whole installation. the installation is new with three years operating. the most circuits are for lighting and sockets with some spurs.
I am a little bit lost for how much I have to charge for it.
Could you give me some advice for calculating the final price?
Thank you all!

Well without seeing the job it is very difficult to say, however a weeks work I suspect, it depends on how deep you go with the inspection and what/ any limitations agreed.

I think such a price would depend heavily on the percentage of the installation agreed to be tested and the operational limitations of the inspection and test.

One bit of advice with large inspections with multiple boards is to price and allow ample time to prepare all the paperwork, it may sound obvious but I know a lot of guys that have come unstuck by not putting enough in the quote to sit down for a day or 2 preparing the report.

Have you got access to the old records or even install records, could help quite a lot ?
used a tester on bigger jobs quite a few years ago now he used to have 2 prices per circuit one if the boards & paperwork were available & another if they were not & is it nice & clean or really dirty & full of crap?

I agree. I've had reports in excess of 200 pages that all need to be input and checked and then all the faults classified. It can take days. It's all in the system which if you do this a lot is a valuable thing to have sorted.

Thank you all guys!, yes I have the original install records and the installation is almost new. Thats gonna help me a lot. I will do a walk around and I will check the 10% of the whole circuits, If I don't find anything suspect then I think I could end the certificate in one or two days including the filling papers at home.
