chopper

Disconnected a old one today stood about 600mm off floor said on front contains hazardous substances. Does anyone know if they full of copper or just oil.there was some copper links in top . Has anyone ever dismantled one

Just look up how a capacitor works and you'll more or less be able to tell us the answer... spelling it correctly will get you more search options ;)

How did you come by this capacitor? Whatever you do don't open it up and get any oils/fluid spills as like snowhead has pointed out that it's likely to contain the banned pcb's which are a known carcinogen.
You now have a huge responsibility to dispose of it in the right manner!
