As you can see I have a Citroen C4 5dr, hatchback with a high brake light fault, it doesn't work. I replaced the light with a new one and that won't work also. On the C4 owners web site forum it says there is a known fault with the rubber boot/wiring entering the boot. It says the wires sometimes rub and fray against the bodywork, I have had a look but can't find a fault anywhere. Looking now for a good honest auto electrician to sort out the fault, or any other good logical recommendations.
Thanks,
Ste.

the wiring in the rubber boot that goes from tail gate to car often breaks the copper cores but not the outer insulation so would be worth checking either side of rubber boot for power - unfortunately car manufacturers use loom cable that isn't meant to flex to the degree that tailgate wiring is subjected to, have spent countless hours grafting proper flexible cable into tail gates, doors etc let us know how you get on

Hi dude, first confirm that all three brake lights are fed from the same fuse, find the loom, close to where the rubber boot is. You may get away with just removing the trim edging and pulling the headlining clear. Trace the feed and earth in loom, these will be coloured as at light termination. Test these with a load,NOT a multimeter, before they get near that rubber boot. If this confirms a good feed and earth, and one/both are lost at light, then take your new cable from this test point, you might even use a faulty cable to draw in the new piece. Be aware,French vehicle wiring is legendary in its' sparing use of conducting material! Good luck.:icon12:
