Hello all,
I am new to all of this, signed up today due to lack of work in the areas im trying to break into. As an apprentice I served my time at a company called industrial electrical services. In this time I carried out mainly heavy industrial installations. After leaving college, I paid for my 2391 inspect and test myself and made sure I passed it, to advance to supervisor position. Since then I have done mainly supervisory work on automated production lines and some installations for various clients on special gas installations and LNG plants.
I have been away for a few years now as I became a qualifying manager for a local firm doing commercial contract work. I have just recently sat my CompEX 01 - 04 to try to break back into this sector. I am looking to see if anybody has any pointers in securing work in this sector or is currently working in this sector and may know of any positions available.
I am also looking to do my MIST and BOSIET as I have family in the offshore industry. I'd also like to hear from anybody who has managed to break into this sector without being 'groomed' for it. Any information that may lead to work in these areas would be much appreciated.
