O

Octopus

Ever now and again I'd like to be able to use my computer to generate a "layout" of a design so they can see where lights and accessories are going to be placed.

So my questions is:

Can anyone recommend a cheapish software package to do building layouts?

I've tried Your Home 3D Designer (which cost me £6) but don't like it!

Thanks

I use a software called Electra. We use it for control panel drawings but its also very good for layout drawings and have use it for this many times. You can draw your own items (lights, sockets etc) and save them in your own folder to make a wider range of items for your drawings.

Microsoft office do something called Visio. It's obviously no where near as good as proper design software, but for a cheap ish piece of software it's ok, you can do basic designs on it, insert switches, sockets, lights and other symbols. It's pretty basic, but ok if you just want simple plans
