Any advice on software for doing this. I have a trial of PV*SOL, but before I invest too much time and money

I want to be reasonably sure its going to be the right one. I wounder how big the user base might be and also

what training is available. How long do you think it might take to become usefully proficient with PV*SOL?

PVSol is a good tool. It has a huge multinational user base. Training is available at The Solar Design Company in North Wales who are he UK agents.

This is not a cheap option for the uncommitted.

You could be right :) or it could be that as your a man with influence they thought it best not to ignore you? Perhaps you could ask them to phone me back or reply to my emails or check their websites contact form is working.

If you are just looking for a good accurate PV Estimation tool for not a huge cost then have a look at encraft's. Costs £199 and has a shading calculation tool which you need to use along with your site notes. Not in the same league at PVsol but it is MCS 2013 Guide compatable.
