Hi all, I have been asked to perform an EICR on a 7 floor office IT based company, each floor approximately 2,500square feet and three phase supply. Looks reasonably new office so doubt there will be many extras in remedial, I'm guessing they have some expensive IT kit and they may need an EICR to make sure they are not running any risk of damaging it, so it will have to be a thorough EICR. Work has to be completed at the weekend and it's central London! Any idea on what the going rate is?

High!

It is impossible to say without having seen the layout of the power structure within the building but there can be a lot of problems (time) tracing circuits initially and switching off IT equipment (and making sure there is none connected on IR testing) can be a nightmare.

You will need to see if they have full as built or current building plans (and check them).
I would also get written confirmation of the agreement to switch items off and when you can do this. Have a principle contact with whom you can arrange denergisation.
Also worth asking why they need an EICR, just in case there are already problems.

As its the weekend you could look at 150% or 200% of your usual rate per circuit.

It would be best to get them to unplug everything and when you do an IR test do it on 100v DC first to make sure there is nothing plugged in - this will show up everything plugged in and should not damage anything plugged in as its below the supply voltage - again worth double checking if anything is sensitive to 100v DC (should not be on a 415v AC supply (3-Phase)).
