Has anyone used one of these flexible drive shaft extenders? Looks like a neat idea but wonder how well they work in practice. Flexible extender goes between drill and bit so you can drill awkward areas, round corners etc.

It depends what you are trying to drill and what size holes, used them in the distant past and they are ok for small holes in soft materials not very good if a lot of torque is needed as it tends to over stress the inner drive cable

Thanks matey. Just being installing sockets in a loft conversion where they've beautifully plastered the partition walls before putting any electrics in. Duh. I think I'll stick to using my 1m long bits and trying to do the impossible! :)

To add to the above points I'm not sure its a good idea unless you are absolutely sure there's nothing else in the partition, I had a play with one of these at one of the Elex shows and the bloke demonstrating it drilled out through the plasterboard......no sale for me I'm afraid.
