It would help a little, but it just allows the air to hold more moisture, so you then either need to change the air or it will dump it on the coldest point, normally that would be the windows, but in your case it is the freezer casing.

Run a dehumidifier for a while, see how much water you get from it, then you will see why you have so much condensation, you may well be amazed.

I believe you can buy smallish ones quite cheaply, check ebay maybe?
