Hi all,
I would like to pick your collective brains by asking if any of you has installed a DB/consumer unit in a garden or outside which is flat and flush to the ground . This one is by a lake and needs to be flat. It will be sat in grass/lawn
Ideas or solutions please

Ta lots

Nigel

Ip68??? sounds like a stupid idea from a customer. wants it to work, but doesn't want it seen. i usually ask the customer to source wireless sockets etc. and if he can, then i'll fit them.

No, I have never installed one like this nor have I ever been asked to. I doubt very much they exist.
Now, if one were to exist how do you think it's IP rating would be maintained?

In my professional opinion, I would recommend a minimum of 5 layers of Tesco's or Asda bags to meet an IP rating of 67, backed up with a covering of a roll of duct tape to bring the installation up to a preferred rating of IP68.

Don't hesitate to contact me, via the forum mail system, if you would like me to carry out this work on your behalf.

COWBOY! Morrisons bags, 2 layers = IP44. 4 layers will therefore obviously = IP88
