Heating on ring main against regs?

Had a call from a landlord today they said they had had a new boiler fitted and the installer said the heating was taken off the ring main and was against regulations.
Maybe not ideal but can't see as it is against regs.Anyone know if it's a oil or gas regulation.

Sounds BS to me unless its one of these new fully electric boilers.......

I would be asking for a Reg to back up the BS

That was my plan .Oil boiler ,suspect their trying to get mate some work as they stated there is a spare way in board.

They could mean taken directly from the ring via a JB with no fusing down for the boiler flex perhaps ? Seen that plenty of times.

Suggest download a copy of the boiler installation manual as that may say requires its own dedicated supply. As manf. Instructions over rides everything.

No mate they only need to be taken into consideration. A competent electrician could consider the manufacturers instructions whilst making their own mind up using their own knowledge/experience.

Think that changed slightly with A3, in that 'The installation of electrical equipment shall take account of manufacturers instructions'. Reg 134.1.1. As you'll know it was previously 'shall be installed in accordance with the instructions'.

At least that is one sensible thing that came of amd 3 - what do manufacturers know but to cover their bums and pay the shareholders! Knowledge and experience with a sprinkling of MAnufacturers instructions - oh I miss the bake off!

Can't think of the exact word Regs would use to describe. Might be about protective device discrimination, in that new installation are supposed to separate supplys a bit.
For example you could run whole house off one lighting circuit but you don't incase a downstairs light goes and trips whole house lights out.
Don't really want dodgy ext lead resetting all your boiler timeclock settings for example.
Not really good enough reason to change existing setup though
