hi all ,this is the first post on here so i appreciate your time looking at it.

back in 1999 i started a jtl aprenticship but due to personal reasons i only done 2 out of the 3 years im pretty sure i done the city and guilds 2351 course and had 2 or 3 certs but cant be sure ive contacted city and guilds but as i dont have an enrolement no and all the relevent details they cant find nothing ,my question is this can i just do an exam (theory or practical) as well as the 17th edition to become a qualified spark ,but without having to spend thousands on courses or 2 years at college .

many thanks

Not if you intend to become JIB graded, you'll need apprentice papers and NVQ3 as well as the 17th as far as i'm aware. Others here will have more up to date information than i though!!

Have you been working as a sparks since?

if not full NVQ I would have thought! If you have been working as a sparks there are quick routes to NVQ 3 the info can be found somewhere on the JIB website.
