Discuss Hi everyone I am looking for help Pricing work in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

power up

hi everyone I was just wondering how everyone prices there work I do a lot of loft conversions and extensions. Do you price on each socket and light etc I would be grateful for any advice or ideas please

I know a lot of people price per point but I tend to work out how long it'll take with a bit of leeway for snags or other people getting in the way, multiply that by my hourly rate and add the cost of materials to me with perhaps a 10-15% mark-up.

There is also the case for how busy you are at the time of the quote/install. If you are really busy and don't really need the work, then you could go in high and if you get it, your quids in and if you don't, then no bother as you have a lot of work on anyway.

If you are not so busy, you may want to go in with a lowish quote just to get the work and a wage.
