Hi everyone

New member here in need of a little advice. Any advice much appreciated.

I'm considering a career change perhaps and becoming an electrician.

In my teens at college I did a BTEC national diploma in electrical eng and a city and guilds 7261 in the same, with the idea of going to uni.

That was many years ago and I've had many rubbish jobs inbetween then and now. I did nothing with these qualifications i'm now looking at doing something related to electronics again.

The BTEC cert was very theory and maths based but would obviously not help me with the practical side of becoming an electrician.

Could anyone point me in the right direction as to how I can use what I have to becoming a electrician? Even being a mate or improver just to get a start so to speak.
Not that keen at the moment at least to spend loads on education (without it leading to a job).

Sorry for the auto biography lol. Any advice would be great!

Your last but one paragraph doesn't sound very encouraging Chris, you are going to be very hard pressed to find a training establishment that will be able to offer you employment at the completion of the training, yes they will say they can help, but that in my opinion is a sweetener to get you to part with your cash.
