Honeywell ADE Accenta G4 panel & 8EP417A RKP

Wondered if anyone can help please. Just installed the above & initially had a problem with tamper lock out ! Suspected the exterior bell/strobe, so bridged A&T on panel.(will sort the tamper switch later) That cleared the fault. So carried on with setting the rkp ! walk test seemed to work and set time & date. When put into alarm state, am getting "program 1 set" with audible KP sounder. Think I may of set up something incorrectly, but not sure what the next step is ? Only using 4 zones with a passive for entry/ exit. Haven't done anything with the other Zones ! Would this be my problem ?

Hi mate. Welcome to the forum.
I presume you have linked the zones you are not using?

Hi....No haven't as yet ! thought there may have been a way to omit these via the rkp. But will link them & try. Cheers.

I have one at home, with the keypad on the control box. I just link mine out. Saves messing with the programming.
There maybe a way of doing it via the rkp. What's the manual say?

Check in the engineers manual, I believe you will need to edit the program and set 'Used Zones' to NO for the ones you aren't using. But I would still link them regardless.

I'm not going to publish how to do this as this is the public forum, but if you want to PM me, feel free.

This is normal alarm setting for full set program 1, enter code, program 1 is displayed, exit tone bleeps for programmed exit time, system sets.

What is you opinion on these panels, personally I find that they are very easy for the end user to use code in code out simple as that .

The alarm I replaced with the Accenta G4 was an earlier model, the Optima XM if I recall correctly. Finally given up the ghost after running since 1995 if the client remembered the install date correctly.

The one's I serviced a couple of weeks back, nothing wrong with them. They were over 10 years old.

Simple, effective and quite flexible.

Depending on the end client, I would recommend it or if they wanted something with more options, a Pyronix Enforcer.

I have a pet hate with Pyronix, and it the ugly bell box. Texcom i find will cover most commercial jobs with the mix of radio and wired, and a massive 640 zone expansion.
