Discuss I am not a tool tart just a practical person! in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net

I think we ought to have a TTs meeting to give us TTs a chance to talk about their addiction, how they got into Tools, who is the main pusher in their locality, how it effects their daily life.
Which tools are classed, as hard tools, should we make possession of a terminal screwdrivers a misdemeanor, what should be the maximum penalty for possession of a fully laden Klein tool Ttote, dealing etc, I think the penalty for dealing should be 6 months unpaid work in B&Q on the tool section, 6 months of that carp will cure anyone of addiction, it will be anonymous, so don't worry SparkyChick you secret is safe with us. :p:D:eek::)

Your problem Mate, just don't involve me, you shouldn't have played with Gary or Jimmy, you're old enough to know better. Am I jealous? no mate, I was more interested in the artistic side of things back in those days, Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, you know the good stuff. The real music, do you wanna be in my gang? no ta.

I must ave been your apprentice back in the 80's

Funnily enough I met Dave Gilmor on my alcoholic escapades through London, Peter Gabriel was a miserable ------- and Van Morrisson a bit of a cock.

Shagged his PA on a bean bag in a flat in Brixton though.

Apologies if its anyones wife on here.

Well I just ordered a set of those @Pete999 should be here Thursday or Friday.

If they're good I might get another set for a wallet with an interchangeable screwdriver blade set. Just for handiness, instead of going to back of van for every job lol

Well, it's a stop gap solution for now. I needed a new one anyway. My longer term plan is one of the fixed blade electricians knives. I'm looking at several that have been suggested in this thread.

What knife did you end up with SC and what did you base your decision on? I'm looking for a decent one just now.

I haven't made a decision yet, so I'm still using my stop gap Fatmax Folding Stanley. Does the job quite nicely :)

I guess the issue is if you spend money on a decent knife, you're going to want to keep it which means maintenance (i.e. sharpening)... I struggle to sharpen things. I can only get a decent edge on my wood chisels if I use one of those guide things, and knifes... I've never been able to sharpen a knife properly, so I'm reluctant to spend money on something that will need maintenance that I can't provide. I probably just need to practice, but it's finding the time.
