Discuss I learnt this trick from a Chippy when Jesus was still an Apprentice in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

??? All I see is an advert Pete. You on Comission ?:D
Sorry Mate I'll need to investigate, perhaps the aliens have intercepted my post, basically it was just flattening the point of a nail prior to smacking it into a bit of wood to avoid splitting the wood, quite a riveting bit of information really, thought it may be of use to the younger members, I shall endeavor to hunt down the errant thread, it may take me a while, as I may have to hack into the relevant computers to retrieve the missing document could take a while, so be patient, it will be worth it in the end I promise, mind boggling to be exact, a break through in construction science,

We'll see it soon just wait and see, he's old and had too much wine but he does get there in the end, that's why we love him

Cant find the original, but this will do, the CIA must have intercepted and wiped my original for fear of global domination by the WBA (wood butchers alliance) I could be in trouble here so if I go missing you will know they have silenced me.

What a strange world, I watched a video on this topic the other day, and it left me wondering.... Why does it work?
it works because a nail with a point splits the wood. a nail without a taper point punches through the wood. personally, i find it easier to drill a pilot hole first.
