I have an emergency lighting system that a place i have worked before is planning to install and were asking me to advise and spec the job. i think that the best and least disruptive method of install is to feed all emergency lights off local lighting circuits. seeing as this is the case what in terms of certification is needed upon completion? other than functional testing.

thanks for the link. the system is a direct replacement for an existing system that has completely failed and needs replacing so that should help a bit in terms of positioning of lights, test switches...etc when you test at the end as this new system will be 40 independent lights supplied of local lighting supplies on each floor how do you need to certify it, a cert per light, or per separate circuit the lights are supplied from?

do i need to issue any type of certificate or retest the circuit if im changing the battery in a emergency light fitting ? please advise
