Hi all

Am doing 2394/95 at moment and trying to get procedure firmly stuck in head. Thing I'm getting a little bit confused with is with some of the vids/examples online some state to switch main switch on (obviously before supply connected) and others off. My thinking is that you might as well always leave off as you will only be testing from the load side terminal of this switch anyway? What would be the other reason for leaving on. The other thing not to sure about is why the need to link N and L terminals at board in some instances doesn't just testing outgoing live and earth bar give a complete reading. Sorry if missing something really obviously long day!

1.you r IR tests should always be done with the main switch locked off and the installation isolated.
2. you link L-N in the DB and test from LN - E if you have any equipment on the installation that may be damaged by the test. e.g. any IT gear, boiler PCBs, TVs etc.

Cheers lads just think I'm nit picking a bit really. Had checked them vids just think I need to watch how question worded and make sure I explain clearly also clarify when testing thru sensitive equipment and linking out
