Is it safe to turn on a faulty electric cooker?

Heyy so I just turned my electric cooker on and it made a hugee bang and tripped the electricity in my entire flat ..
I flipped the switch and restored my electricity, but is it safe to try and turn my cooker back on?

I'd leave the cooker off Maeve until someone electrically qualified has taken a look at it. When you say turned on do you mean the main switch or one particular part of the cooker ?

switch cooker off at it's isolator. get a local electrician in, or call fire service. your choice.

It was the main switch at the wall, left it switched off but now the fuse box has blown and there's no electricity at all xD
Called for an electrician ..

Sounds like you have tripped a main breaker somewhere,
possibly even your service fuse
This is beyond your level the electrician will have to find it ?
let us know how you go ?

Yeah turns out the main fuse had blown!
So its fixed now, just have to buy a safer cooker xD

Used to be regular call out, cooker fault
on rewireable 30 amp fuse blows 80amp HRC main fuse first.
