Kewtech KT65DL dowload data problem Windows 10

Hi

Does anyone have experience downloading results from a kewtech KT65dl MFT to a windows 10 laptop? I've installed the "KewReport" software and when I click the Communication/Download options I get "a communication port was not able to be opened" error message.

Have you installed the software? Are you using the USB option? Anyway even if you get it working you will wish you just wrote the certificate instead. Or used some software to issue the cert. The software is old basic windows 3.1 crap. I frankly could not be bothered with it, and am dissapointed at the low quality of the download software considering what I paid for the MFT. But then this is the same with most download software on most MFTs'

Thanks for your reply Vortigern. I've sorted it now and OMG! What a piece of s**t! At lease I've got it in Excel now so can mess about with it.

For anyone else suffering this. The problem was:
My installation didn't auto detect the usb when I plugged it in. Also my (extremely confusing) installation instructions didn't mention this was even an issue. Somehow I found the following pdf with slightly better instructions:

Via "device manager" I manually installed the usb driver from the disc, and hey-presto, an extremely disappointing bit of software sprang in to life.
